2026 Subaru Ascent vs 2025 Subaru Ascent
Serving Evergreen Park, IL
The three-row Subaru Ascent delivers the full range of features that you want in a rugged yet comfortable SUV. This midsize model benefits from a few mid-generation updates into the 2026 model year. The improvements begin with removing the Onyx Edition from the trim lineup. The trim levels from the base up are the Premium, Limited, Limited Bronze Edition, Touring, and Onyx Edition Touring. Additional updates are made to select trim levels.
Performance
While the 2025 and 2026 Ascents differ in several ways, the crossover’s performance remains unchanged. Every Ascent for 2025 and 2026 is powered by a turbo 2.4-liter, four-cylinder engine, which produces 260 horsepower and 277 pound-feet of torque. All trims also have standard all-wheel drive and a continuously variable automatic transmission. The 2025 and 2026 Ascents can tow up to 5,000 pounds.
Appearance
For all trims, the Cosmic Blue Pearl paint offered in 2025 will be replaced by Sapphire Blue Pearl in 2026. If you opt for the Ascent Premium, your Ascent will now have black 18-inch alloy wheels and black side mirrors. This trim level now has silver contrast stitching on black Star-Tex upholstery. The Touring trim level is offered with Slate Black leather upholstery and black stitching or Java Brown with silver stitching for the first time. It also now has matte woodgrain accents.
Features
The entry-level Ascent has an impressive range of standard features, including a three-zone climate control system, wireless smartphone app integration, heated front seats, an 11.6-inch infotainment system screen, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, trailer sway damping, evasive steering assistance, lane keeping, forward collision avoidance, and others. With a higher trim level, the 2025 and 2026 model years are available with a digital rear mirror, a 180-degree front parking camera, a 120-volt power outlet, rain-sensing wipers, a 360-degree surround-view camera, a driver attention monitor, heated seats in the second row, an intercom system, a Harman Kardon sound system with 14 speakers, driver’s memory functions, leather upholstery, a panoramic sunroof and several additional features.
