The bold, capable Subaru Forester is the ultimate SUV for adventure-minded drivers. This compact crossover SUV offers two rows of seating, standard all-wheel drive, and tons of extraordinary features. In 2025, Subaru releases the Forester’s fifth generation, bringing refreshed styling to the table.

The Forester Wilderness is the fourth of six trim levels. While it has the same powertrain as the other trim levels, the Wilderness adds a few additional features that elevate its performance. The powertrain is a four-cylinder, 2.5-liter turbo engine paired with a continuously variable automatic transmission. An under-body skid plate and all-terrain tires boost the Forester Wilderness's robust capabilities.

The Forester Wilderness’s style is differentiated from the other 2025 trim levels. In fact, it still carries some of the design elements of the 2024 model year. The look includes a tall profile with a powerfully defined hood. The front end displays extensive molding across the bumper. The molding extends across the contemporary grille and rises to support the LED headlights. Across the sides, the dark molding thickens as it rounds over the wheel wells and runs across the lower door panels. Exterior features included on the 2025 Forester Wilderness are increased ground clearance, 17-inch wheels, and a matte black hood decal.

The Wilderness trim level comes with everything offered in the 2025 Forester Sport, and it adds numerous other features. The Sport’s features are a blind-spot warning, auto emergency steering, eight simulated gears on the paddle shifters, auto emergency braking, wireless Apple CarPlay, wired Android Auto, a six-speaker sound system, a wireless charging pad, heated front seats, reclining rear seats, a rear seat reminder, lane keeping and others. The Wilderness trim level has these features: an 8-inch touch display screen, water-resistant upholstery, one-touch folding rear seats, rear auto braking, a front-view camera, and more.
