 What's New for the 2024 Subaru Solterra?

In 2023, Subaru introduced the Solterra as its first-ever all-electric SUV. While the Solterra is now only in its second year, it shows off several thoughtful improvements. You can spot a few updates as soon as you slide behind the wheel. The steering wheel is now oval-shaped with squared-off corners to improve the driver's visibility of the digital instrument panel. On the back of the steering wheel, paddle shifters are easy to access and give the driver control over the vehicle's regenerative braking capabilities.

You can also appreciate updates to the 2024 Solterra's safety technologies. The Solterra now has automatic lane changing, a hands-free low-speed driving mode, and intersection collision detection. These features join the many other assistive safety features available in last year's model, including forward collision mitigation, adaptive cruise control, emergency steering assistance, lane-keeping assistance, semi-automated parking, and a rear cross-traffic alert.

The 2024 Solterra continues to have a two-motor, all-wheel drive system that generates 215 horsepower. However, it introduces an improved battery warming system. The battery can charge from 10% to 80% in 35 minutes in warmer weather and 80 minutes in sub-freezing conditions.

On the exterior, the 2024 Solterra introduces reinforced roof rails that can now support 700 pounds. The style is unchanged. The 2024 Solterra has a modern, sharp look with a flat roof and steep raking through the front and rear windshields. The fenders are dressed up with geometrically inspired black molding. The molding around the front fender carries forward over the front bumper and also runs underneath the LED-enhanced headlights.

The 2023 Solterra was well-appointed across the trim level lineup, and its features are found in the 2024 model. These include remote vehicle control, wireless Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto, a heated steering wheel, a premium Harman Kardon stereo system, heated seats for both rows, driver's seat memory controls, a wireless charging pad, simulated leather upholstery, an integrated navigation system, a 12.3-inch infotainment system screen, interior ambient lights, a digital rearview mirror, and a surround-view camera.
